Non Nobis Solum Sed Toti Mundo Nati

Millie and Api

Here in the colony things are pretty fetid. Water running down the mountains, meeting along the way human dejects, reaching – underground – an unseen delta. Mosquito coast… Wet cardboard coasters left behind by the revelers, I reckon… We have a many-faced coast receiving the liquid from the grottoes as you well know. But it is sunny and bright; May is approaching fast, good color temperature for pictures, so sayeth the photographers… The sprawl of popular housing extends beyond what the eye can see now. Alas, politics, same little circle of people; some are top notch, yet chained to their lives here, sometimes without a glimmer of perspective. Some are working abroad here and there. The glitterati renew their ideas, but always give a local taint and spin to the occurrences and to what they observe. Reminds me of Chelsea, England in the 60’s; that complete zaniness – we read - where people went to Greece or the south of France. But it was like going to a local pub for one and a piss. It is hard to form a cogent society out of this muck. Yet, I do not complain. The alternatives do not exist. I mean, some people would kill for what is left behind in the USA or Zooropa. The suburban baloney or the urban chic, so tedious it tickles the soul. Trapped in the many options… Something along those lines… Supper's ready....
